To turn off/on Pop-up Blockers in Web Browsers, follow these instructions:
Internet Explorer 11
- Click Tools (Gear icon).
- Click Internet Options
- On the Privacy tab, select or clear the Turn on Pop-up Blocker check box
- Click OK
Microsoft Edge
- Click the three-dot More Actions button on the top right
- Click Settings.
- Select the Privacy & Security tab.
- Slide the Pop Ups to the off or on position.
Mozilla Firefox
- At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button in Mac OS X or Menu (3 lines) in Windows
- Click Options
- Select the Privacy & security tab
- Under the Permissions heading, uncheck Block pop-up windows to disable the pop-up blocker, or check Block pop-up windows to enable the pop-up blocker.
- You may choose to add murraystate.edu to the Exceptions section to allow all pop-ups from any murraystate.edu website, including Canvas.
Google Chrome
- Click the Menu icon at the top right of the Chrome window (3 dots)
- Select Settings (Preferences on Macs and Linux, Settings on a Chromebook)
- Scroll down and click Advanced.
- Under the Privacy & Security heading, click Site settings.
- In the "Pop-ups" section, toggle Allowed on or off. Customize permissions for specific websites by clicking Manage exceptions.
Safari
- Under Safari, select Preferences
- Click on "Security" at the top of the window.
- Check the box Block pop up windows to enable this feature. Uncheck it to disable it.
Opera
- Click the Menu icon at the top right of the window (3 lines)
- Scroll down and click Go to browser settings
- Click the Advanced drop down tab.
- Under the Privacy & Security heading, click Site settings.
- In the "Pop-ups" section, toggle Allowed on or off. Customize permissions for specific websites by clicking Manage exceptions.
