Body

Murray State University highly recommends the use of the Google Mail/RacerMail interface (https://mail.google.com/) for using your @murraystate.edu email account. Mobile users can use the Gmail app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. For those wishing to use a different client (such as Thunderbird, the default Apple Mail app, or another client), please follow the instructions below for setting up RacerMail via IMAP.

IMAP / Sign in with Google

You can read your RacerMail messages from a client or device that supports IMAP or Sign in with Google (like Outlook). NOTE: Murray State University does not allow email clients to use POP due to security concerns.

If your mail client supports it, use the "Sign in to Google" option when setting up a new account. This process will have you sign in to your Murray State account with your username, password, and Duo 2-factor authentication.

You can find more information in this Google Help article.

Additional Assistance

If you have trouble connecting your mail client via IMAP, please submit a support request using the Email and Google Apps Support request form.
