Network Share FAQs

A network share is a folder (or drive) that can be made accessible to multiple people who are on campus or have remote access to some services. Network shares are frequently used by many MSU departments to store files (such as Excel spreadsheets, PDFS, etc). It's important to note that these are different than Google Shared drives (which can by accessed by your @murraystate.edu account).

If a new employee or student worker needs access to an existing network share, use the "Employee Network Resource Request" form.

If you need to request a new network share, or request an expansion to an existing network share, use the "Network Shared Drive Request or Expansion" form.

If you need to request a change to the security group permissions for a network share, use the "Network Shared Drive Permissions Change Request" form.

If you need a file restored on a network share, use the "Network Share File Restore" form.

If you need to encrypt files in a network share, use the "Encrypted File Share" form.
