WebEx VoIP Installers and Instructions

After Information Systems has enabled your WebEx Calling VoIP account, use the instructions for installing and setting up the WebEx Calling mobile app or the WebEx Calling desktop client. WebEx Calling will allow you to make and receive calls very similar to how you do on campus. 

Using the WebEx Calling App from your Mobile Device

NOTE: The following instructions will be updated as testing and improvements are made for the WebEx Calling service.  These instructions are intended to assist people participating in the usage of the WebEx Calling client.

Cell Phone setup for WebEx Calling

  • Download Cisco WebEx Calling (Business) client for iPhone or Android
  • Touch Sign In
  • Enter your email address and touch Next
  • The login.murraystate.edu screen will appear. Sign in with your murraystate login credentials
  • Proceed through the MFA prompt 
  • Touch "Calling" at the base of the application window
  • The options presented at the top are "Recents, Contacts, Voicemail"
  • For voicemail, touch "Calling" at the bottom of the app window, and select Voicemail at the top
  • To make a call, touch the 10 dot dialer, Search for a User in the Directory at the top or touch “Contacts”

Using the WebEx Calling Client from Windows or Mac

Visit WebEx Downloads page and select the appropriate option.

If you are unable to download the above links, we recommend trying a different browser.

***When installing the WebEx Calling client, be sure to install it on your local machine & not on your VM.***

Instructions

  • Click Sign In
  • Enter your email address and touch Next
  • The login.murraystate.edu screen will appear. Sign in with your murraystate login credentials
  • Proceed through the MFA prompt 
  • Click the phone handset on the left for "Calling"
  • Click the Voicemail icon to the left for "Voicemail"
  • Click the Address book icon on the left for "Contacts"
  • For voicemail, touch "Calling" at the bottom of the app window, and select Voicemail at the top
  • To make a call, click the handset icon and enter the number via the 10 digit dialer, search for a User in the Directory at the top or select from “Contacts”

Dial Plan

Dialing from your WebEx Calling client is the same as if you were at your desk phone on campus.

  • To dial another Murray State number, dial the 4-digit extension.
  • To dial a local, off-campus number, you must dial 8 + area code + the phone number.
  • To dial a long distance, off-campus number, you must dial 1 + 8 + area code + the phone number.
  • To dial a toll-free number, you must dial 8 + 1 + 8xx + the phone number.
