Tags sftp winscp

WinSCP is used to upload content to the RacerNet webserver. Users will first need an SFTP account. If you do not have one, use the SFTP Account service request. WinSCP can be downloaded for free for PC.

Once installed, use these instructions to setup WinSCP:

NOTE: During installation, it is recommended that you select the Commander interface.

When you start WinSCP, the program will ask you for your login information.

  1. Type in the Host Name:  sftp.murraystate.edu
  2. Type in your User Name, which is your Network username.
  3. Type in your Password, which is your Network password.
  4. In the server’s Protocol box, select SFTP from the drop-down menu.
  5. Click on the “Save…” button to save your settings.
  6. Click on the “Login” button.
  7. You may receive a warning about “The server’s host key.” Click “Yes” to proceed. This error should only pop up the first time you enter in your information.
  8. Once connected, you can drag and drop or copy/paste files from your local machine on the left to the server on the right.  Make sure you are pasting/dropping your files into the correct subfolder on the right.  This folder will start with "Racer1" and might look something like Racer1_website.
