Report a Network Issue on ResNet

If you live in one of the residence halls and are experiencing problems with your Internet connection, such as slow Internet speeds or not being about to connect to the wireless network, please use the service request at the right to provide details about the problem you are having. We'll follow up with you after we take a look into your issue.

Here's some info on how to find information on your computer that we might ask for:

To find your IP address on a Windows PC:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • In Windows 8.1 or 10, use the Search box in the task bar to search for and start typing “View Network Connections," then select your active connection in the list.
    • In Windows 7, open “Network Connections” by selecting the Start button and then choosing “Control Panel.” In the search box, type adapter, and then under “Network and Sharing Center”, select “View Network connections.”
  2. Select an active network connection, and then select “View Status of this connection” from the tool bar. (You may need to select the chevron icon to find this command.)
  3. Select "Details."

Your PCs IP address appears in the value column, next to IPv4 Address. Your MAC address appears in the value column, next to physical address.

To Find your IP address on a Mac:

  1. Click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen.
  2. Select “System Preferences.”
  3. Click “Network.”
  4. Select your active connection from the list on the left. You should then see you IP address listed on the right.
