myGate Account Support

myGate is MSU's campus portal. Within this portal students can pay bills, register for classes, view important announcements, request transcripts, view grades and much more. Employees can report and approve time cards and leave reports, view benefit information, submit grades, view advisees and perform many other work-related tasks.

If You Have Not Yet Enrolled in Password Help

Please call the Service Desk at 270-809-2346 to have your myGate Password reset.

You may then log in to myGate and create a new password. We recommend using the Consolidated Credentials option so that the same password may be used for myGate, Canvas, RacerMail, and Network. For help, see Consolidated Credentials & Password Rules.

If You Have Enrolled in Password Help

If you are unable to log into myGate, but you have enrolled in the Password Help system (Self-Service Password Recovery), please click on the "Request This Service" button at the right. This button will redirect you to the Password Help system.

Once you log in to Password Help, you can reset your myGate password by answering your security questions or by SMS*.

You may also log in to Password Help to update your myGate and/or Network password, update your security questions or your mobile phone number, view information about your Password Help account, and unlock your account.

If at any time you forget your myGate or Network Password, just use the "Forgotten Password?" link on the myGate login page to be redirected to the Password Help site.

To Enroll in Password Help

Password Help is a password recovery system that will allow you to reset your myGate or Network (MSUNET2K) password without having to call the Service Desk.

To enroll in the Password Help system, you will need to already know your Network password.

  1. Go to the Password Help system.
  2. Type in your myGate/Network username, and click "I agree" to accept the Privacy Policy & Terms of Use.
  3. Click on the "Continue" or "Enrollment" button.
  4. Enter your Network password (For help, view our Network Password article).
  5. Click on the "Continue" button.
  6. Select and answer three security questions.
  7. Click on the "Continue" button.
  8. You have the option to provide your mobile phone number to receive SMS messages* that will assist you in password recovery. If you choose to use this option, you will immediately receive an SMS message to verify your account when you click "send". You must enter the 4-digit code before proceeding.

*Please note that by using SMS, standard charges according to your mobile service provider will apply.
